Well the final long race of the year was on Saturday. 2082 birds were sent to Tibooburra, which is way up in the middle of the country somewhere.Diamond Dave wrote: Thu Oct 29, 2026 10:44 am Let us know how they get on Muzza. I'd be a bit worried about heremans or bulks getting the 600 miles and not sure if the Thone in them will be enough to get then home but will be very interesting and wish him well..
My mate David sent 6 including 2 of mine.
Wasn't a good race, only one pigeon was home on the day right on dark flying about 600 miles.
There were some home on the Sunday but plenty missing. Then on Monday it poured with rain all day and hardly any arrived.
So I was very pleased when David sent me the picture of his clock, my grizzle youngster 194 had arrived at 9.50.48 yesterday. 525 miles.
As I said its half Jos Thone' and half Heremans / Van den Bulck on both sides so it isn't bred to stay. And it's only 8 1/2 months old.
It had already won a race so it's done well.
