This year I have changed some matings around. One of the red Thone boys is paired up with an old Thone' hen I was given a long time ago. She's off a champion race hen. She hasn't left much in recent years, but she was keen on the red cock and I might get a nice young hen to keep for stock. I am beginning to believe that old pigeons can breed stock birds but race birds are better from younger pigeons. She laid the first egg at the new place today
It's a good egg too. Nice and clean and well shaped.
Looking forward to several more laying in the next day or so.
I hope you get a few from them and they do the business for you

Like NeilA, whose youngsters are in super form, my mate David Cox in Bendigo won the Combine for the forth time in 5 weeks on Saturday.
Good loft, good pigeons and a trainer who is not afraid of hard work.
It appears to be the answer.
Well done to David and his birds, as the saying goes you only get out what you put in
