So, I thought I’d start a diary, as it seems I’m back into the pigeons! 🤣

I might even start a YouTube channel to document what I’m up to, where I’m going from here, and everything I build along the way.

Anyway, as most of you know, I raced pigeons back in roughly 2014–2017 and have been out of the hobby ever since.

Many of you will have seen that I went to collect a lost pigeon. Of course, I ended up keeping it because the owner couldn’t afford to have it collected, and it had been lost off the top of his loft.

So, I went out and bought it a rabbit cage to live in while I ordered an 8x6 shed, which I’m going to convert into a stock loft.

Then someone got in touch to say one of the local fanciers was packing up and asked if I wanted some birds. Well... I couldn’t say no! 😂 I’ve now picked up another five pigeons.

I’m really hoping the shed turns up soon. Hopefully, I’ll have it built and fully kitted out by the end of August.

The plan is to fit a small aviary on the front, with standard window hood boxes inside. I’ll also be adding ventilation along the bottom and removing a board along the top to allow plenty of airflow.

I’ve added some photos of the birds I picked up. Most of them came through the channel, and I don’t know their pedigrees or racing results, but it’s a great start back into the hobby. If I’m still racing in two or three years, I can always upgrade to better birds.

For now, I’m just looking forward to getting everything set up and enjoying being back in the sport. 😊

It's the Northants Channel Club Chris, (NCC) and yes, I do know of Martin Wright but not personally but I do know a lot of the other members.
They fly South Road with an organisation called "Loft" who transports them.
TBH, I am not sure if the Loft organisation will survive after this season. Its an experimental arrangement and was only set up this year. "Loft" stands for "Line of flight training" they are like a fed but not one really and there are only 3 clubs involved. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think it has had the support that they were expecting.

Ah thats good mate - I know Russell very well. Used to be the treasurer to the Bicc. Very experienced.
But even with him at the helm, Im not sure it will continue.
Anyway Chris, don't want to hijack your diary mate but was just wondering when you are planning on starting
