I do mine myself with another club member or Roxanna. Records have to be kept, type of vaccine used, batch number, expiry date, date of vaccination and ring numbers of all birds vaccinated.
Thanks Andy, and who keeps the record of the vaccinations, is it yourself or the club

You don't NEED any other vaccinations to race your birds and neither do the birds but anything else you give is your choice.
ok thanks for that Dave, the club Sec will put me right on all this I bet.
The Y/Bs I'm getting will these come to me with a record of the vaccinations from the fancier so I can prove they have been done, or would I have to get them vaccinated once I have the Y/Bs

The young birds you get may not have been vaccinated Tony so you have to ask the question of the ppl you get them from.
If the birds are transferred to you, then it is your responsibility.
If they have already been done then you d9nt need to worry about them.
It is an annual thing that needs to be done every year.
So if you vaccinate now then they won't need to be done again until this time next year.

Your club will want a copy of your vaccination form Tony before the season starts next year.
As far as the youngsters your getting in they may have been vaccinated they may not. Doesn’t really make much difference. personally I wouldn’t wait until a couple of weeks before breeding next year and do them yourself then.

In my golden rule of keeping racing pigeons, I spoke about the sport being a 365 day sport. so everyday different tasks need to be carried out, so we look on the ways to help our birds. Here is a small video, i hope it helps any new starters.

Back when vaccinations became mandatory we used to do them all at the club. They would be done the week between old bird and young bird racing. It would then mean that nothing would need vaccinating again until the same time the following year. The old birds and young birds would all have been vaccinated for the old bird season.
