BICC race time is 220 y.p.m. with the exception of Barcelona which shall cease at 160 y.p.m The International closes when 25% of the entry are clocked.

Hi Dave. There are 68 birds home tonight. Don’t put your birds or yourself down. If you think yours aren’t good enough there are 400 other ones in the race from the uk that weren’t good enough. You still have all day tomorrow and probably until around Monday lunchtime to be on the result sheet.

Thanks for the boost Andy. Unfortunately, I don't see there is too much credit in clocking in on the 3rd day especially as there are good birds already in my section
I expected mine to be home now. I clocked on the 3rd day last year and was expecting better this time round.
I need to take a step back and think about what to do next but I was joking when I said about knocking my loft down.

I wish I had a pound for every time I've said 'I expected mine to be home' Dave. I'd still clock on the 3rd or 4th day, otherwise you birds have flown for nothing. You learn from every race you send too. And as Andy says there are 400 birds still to arrive home. Hope you get yours back Dave so you can try again.

I have had one come this morning
I've not put it in the clock but he hasn't flown for nothing, he's proved to me that he is worth another try and that's good enough for me.
I am still really disappointed with the performance of my birds in this race and trying to work out what I done wrong.

Great to hear you got one Dave.
I would still say you’re putting yourself down. These marathon races have so many anomalies, especially the internationals. How far has your pigeon actually flown? Probably far more than you think. Was in dragged towards Belgium and Holland. Where did it spend the nights. Was it dry where it roosted, was it clear next morning or was it caught up in all the fog. Yes there are some good pigeons back and some that have done it a few times but to me is this real racing? The pigeon of Clive and Jill, and I know them personally, was a great pigeon on the day. But somewhere it had that lucky break to possibly find itself on its own and able to cross the channel in the evening. Wouldn’t it have got home if it had had stop overnight, who knows.

Andy, I consider myself to be a pragmatic person. I am not putting myself down mate and I am not depressed I am just really disappointed.
I have been dealing with the pros and cons of distance racing for the last 8-10years or so, so am not néw to it.
Apart from Messrs Rogers and Co brilliant bird, there are 60 odd other birds clocked and I really expected/wanted to be among them.
Last year, I was pleased to clock on the 3rd day but this year I really thought I was gonna get on the result.
Like King said 'we learn from every race' - what I have learnt from this one is that "tweaking" things is not good enough and next year I will "change" things completely.
