You must miss keeping the birds
OLR is a great idea for people like me who don't have birds myself I had the chance last year to buy two and put them in a late year OLR and one of the birds won the 3rd race £300.00 which basically give me my money back for the birds and entry fee I've entered again this year something to look forward to after the world cups finished.
Thanks Tony, I am involved in a syndicate of 7 youngsters. I the Meadows OLR Melbourne Austraila, I had the speed champion in Costa Del Sol OLR but that was in 2018. I brought her home for breeding. You are breaking even then Tony. Olr is ideal for those that can not keep birds.Tony-P- wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 2:54 pmReally sorry to hear that news hope your keeping ok.Devo1956 wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 12:29 pm Dont have birds anymore Tony, I have ILD so i can not keep them anymore. I use habru traps which are colored orange. But also everytime i feed i shake the pot with feed still left in it and i whistle myself without a whistle. I can trap all my 70+ youngbirds this year within 1 minute from which probaly 50 go in within the first 20-30 seconds. I never really struggled with trapping even before the habru traps but i have to say atleast for me it made a huge difference this year with the new traps im not sure if it is the color. Or if it is the system how it closes and opens that they dont see the color before it opens and that they cant land on the trap because of the way it is. but this year works super well for me with trapping. specially my yearlings i have inside within 10-15 seconds. Once they see the trap open they dash inside of it instantlyTony-P- wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 6:28 am Great videos again Devo.
can I just ask when you are all racing your birds, when it comes to training for trapping your birds do you have coloured Traps, do you use whistles, do you use corn in a tin.
which is the best way you have found to train your birds to trap.
also the BEZING SYSTEM is this now used by everyone racing pigeons and for a small loft with say one or two traps what would this system cost and for a beginner is it easy to fit and use.
I do like your fly in Leon, trapping from straight out of the sky.Spieker-Loft wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 3:51 pmI use habru traps which are colored orange. That's good to hear and yes it could be a mix of both colour traps and your system, but I think i'd go with coloured Traps if I have the chanceSpieker-Loft wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 3:51 pmI use habru traps which are colored orange.
