I've put my name down for one. If there's enough interest they will send two teams, so I might send another. See how cashed up I am. :D
Hope you do well in it Murray

I got up at 6 because the boys wanted feeding and it was too warm to stay in bed.
Went out and checked the babies. All doing well, and there's nothing out there that's likely to scalp a youngster, but you still worry.
Came in and had a cuppa then scraped out and watered the veggies. The tomatoes have grown nearly a foot in the last 24 hours with the heat !

There's another thing I think is useful. In the afternoon I took all the drinkers out, rinsed them and filled them with cold water. I did it again this morning and I'll do it again later. I think that in this hot weather when they drink they can put canker and cocci organisms in the drinkers which love the warm water and it becomes a bug soup. Spreads it to the next one that has a drink. I reckon flushing out the drinkers and putting cold fresh water in is a quick and easy way to reduce cross infection in the loft.
I started useing Milton in my water, especially during the racing season when birds from other lofts start turning up. It was something I was told of and used to do back in the 80s/90s, having had a few issues over the past couple of seasons I decided to try it again.
For a good few years I use to put a drop of bleach in the ybs drinker on a Saturday evening after a race
Also use to do it for a few days in January before pairing
I was told about by a real good racing loft
I know people think it’s harsh and will be against it but just something I did

We saw that there was a Christmas parade in the main street at 7 pm tonight. So, we wandered down, and found what appeared to be the whole town plus most of the surrounding district lining the main street. :D
The fire Brigade, emergency services, local clubs, farm equipment dealers, the small but vibrant Philipino community, there were all sorts.
There were kids from about 18 months old to almost teenagers wandering around on the street picking up the sweets that were being thrown, and there wasn't a policeman or Hi Vis jacket to be seen.
The adults, like us, were watching the little kids, and the vehicles were going about 1 mile per hour. It was a time warp back to when we were kids :D
And there was not a rainbow flag, no BGQ...I cant remember, float, just a heap of people bringing their kids and clapping at the locals who do so much in the community.
Oh, it was good fun.
Nice to see, glad you had good time
