Its been a week tomorrow since George's babies arrived, they spent the first night a basket so I was sure they had all eaten and drank something. I put them all in the loft on Friday but had to take a couple out again as they were getting a bit of a battering from my old birds, the pied had been scalped a little but only superficially. The other three were managing to stay out of the way but hadn't yet tried to brave the feeders. On Saturday I put them all in a basket and put the basket on my chicken run which faces the loft so that they were able to have a good look at the outside of the loft, I did put a drinker on the basket but didn't feed them. After my old birds had had a fly and I'd fed them back in, I returned all but the pied back into the loft.
Well after a bit of a torrid time they seem to have weathered the storm and are now all holding their own and eating, although they do still keep out of the way once they've eaten, the pied is back in there now too and doing well. It is helping now that I also have 3 of my own babies, who have been reared I the loft wandering around the floor now too

I'll get some pics and update further at the weekend
