Yes ,Trev, that's the problem with these pretty coloured ones. They are first targets for the hawks. I don't expect to have all of them for very long.

Yet the raptor enthusiasts still insist the falcons are endangered. There was a picture of a city falcon and brood of youngsters on a ledge in a newspaper recently. The falconist told the idiot reporter that they are 'rare', and the journalist dutifully wrote that.

Rare? There are thousands of them.

I see bird flu is killing them in the UK been couple reports on last few days, pity the buggers around here don't catch it

I did see that Buster. There’s always time for a few more poor falcons to get it . I also read yesterday that paramyxovirus is rife in Jersey and expected to come over here.
