A very good friend of some of the members, George Downey. I had an e mail from his son Will, I have been trying to contact George for a while. It turns out George has been in hospital since July of this year. Will wrote he was not too well, I have asked Will if I could visit George. So I am waiting for a reply.

I wish him all the best. I spoke to him a few times over the years and went to see him a couple of times at his and he has been to mine a couple of times. You brought him once Devo if I remember rightly. He bred me my first winner when I came back into the sport and got to know him through this forum.
Get well soon George.

Ahh, I didnt realise who it was you were talking about as I didn't know his sir name.
I too would like to wish him a speedy recovery.
Its also nice to put a face to the avatar. Although I don't know him personally, I am sure I have seen him around maybe at marking or some of the shows.
Get well soon George.

Just a update on George, Nothing much has changed health wise, social services are now involved and assessing his care needs with the plan to place him into a care home. Unfortunately he is considered to have complex care needs so there are limited options available, but his son Will, is pushing for something close by.
