Every race weekend we see the same questions:
- "Who's at Bath on Saturday?"
- "What time is your federation liberating?"
- "Will we be crossing another convoy?"
- "Has anyone heard what time the Combine is going?"
Despite everyone wanting this information, there has never really been a central place where federations can share it.
So I've started building Federation ClashGuard.
The idea is simple...
Each federation (or convoyer) registers their planned liberation by entering:
• Race date
• Liberation site
• Planned liberation time
• Destination/flight corridor
• Approximate bird numbers
The system then plots every liberation on an interactive map and compares the projected flight paths.
It automatically:
I've also included over 100 official RPRA race points to make entering liberations quick and consistent, plus the ability to share an entire day's schedule with a single link.
The important thing is that this isn't designed to tell federations what to do.
It's simply a planning tool.
If two organisations can see they're both planning to liberate thousands of pigeons from nearby race points into crossing flight corridors within a few minutes of each other, they can make an informed decision before the baskets are opened instead of finding out afterwards.
Of course, the biggest challenge isn't building it...
It's getting enough federations to actually use it. The more organisations that register their liberations, the more useful it becomes for everyone.
I'd genuinely appreciate your thoughts.
Would this be something your federation or combine would use on race day if it were available?
