Who would be the champion
That's an impossible question to answer. It would be hard to compare winner against winner as each race is different. Would it be on number of races won? again hard to pick.Devo1956 wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2026 11:28 pm So in british horse racing, it is looked at as Frankel was the champion horse. So when it comes to racing pigeons, what bird would you say was the champion bird in racing?
If I was to pick one bird it would be The British 1000 Mile Record Holder. The 'Conqueror' Red Cheq Cock SU 72A 9522 who broke the previous record of 5 days in half in 1975, and has held the current record for 51 years and counting. He flew 1,010 miles in 56hrs.
I maybe biased as I owned this bird many years ago having bought him from S.G.Biss, who in turn bought him from the fancier who raced him Alan Raeside.
