Here i will take everyone through my whole yb season starting from this week. I will try to update this daily with literally every bit of information possible. Feeding / Supplements / Training etc etc etc. See it as a Diary that whoever wants to can take something out of for themself.

10.07.2026

Today was the last training of the week. We started training with a trailer this week. first training was just 2.5 miles. last training today was 15 miles. 94 basketed 94 Returned. 0 losses so far from training.
On wednesday we already went up to 10 miles which took them 90 minutes but thats nothing to worry about. 2022 i released them 2.5 miles and they needed over 120 minutes back. Alot of times youngbirds will just fly around or go with another flock if they see them in the air which is fine.

Our Yb's are Vaccinated 4x !!! 1x against paramyxo, Herpes, Adeno and a total of 3x against Rota virus.

The birds are currently on 50% mifuma relax a super light mix with 50% Vanrobaeys 4 season. I know this is gonna seem quiet heavy to alot of people but having them in the air 2-3 hours does cost alot of energy. and aslong as their performance on the house doesn't drop or they are starting to get fat i don't see a reason on why to feed lighter.

In the drinker they currently get. Dosto 12 / Tollyamin Forte / Blitzform and over the feeding 2-3x a week Moorgold + entrobac + immunebooster. I know alot of people here dislike heavy supplements but this is how we race and i also think its crucial.
When we race everything is under a strict plan. Feeding and training at the same time everyday. A routine in the birds is important to us. Supplements under a strict plan every week on the same days.
In my opinion there is nothing worse then changing your system every week within the season or preperation. you have to decide on a system and stick to it. Small adjustments are fine but huge changes specially in the feeding or supplements usually only make things worse.

For this weekend not much more will happen On saturday/sunday the birds will sit in the loft due to ob+yl races still happening

Next weeks plans are to extend the training with the trailer to further distances.
Also to change the supplement and feeding plan to adjust for the upcomming first race on the 1st of august.2 Weeks time to adjust to the changes of feeding and supplements is plenty time. But currently the supplement plan is heavily focused on regeneration this will change more to a mix of start of the week regeneration end of the week refilling their vitals with vitamins and oil etc.

A great update on your young bird season, Its good that you are sharing information of your racing plans. Also from your training and your feed and supplements, I hope new starters get the chance to follow your young bird season. Also we will be watching on Livestream, so we will be getting your results nearly live. I can only thank you and your Dad for allowing us to share your information. I have always said this is a loft to watch in the future, and now you have aloud us to share your updates. I am sure you will get some good questions from some of the members. Good luck for Sunday mate, I will be watching. Bring home the winner, and Jan behind you.

I will keep this a bit more formated now so its a bit simpler and easier for me to do this daily or atleast almost daily

14.07.2026

Feeding: 50% Mifuma Relax 50% Mifuma Top energy.

Suppelents: Tolisan Tollyamin Forte in water.

Training: 15 miles with 280 birds.

Note: Bit gutted today but we move. 91 yb's basketed for trainign today 83 are home. I guess this is the flipside of the coin for not loosing a single one last week on training. but maybe a few more will turn up tomorrow morning.
Trained in a bit of a different direction today a bit more south. Conditions were okay. Tollyamin forte in water for quick regeneration. Feeding was changed yesterday as i already said last week starting monday i will cut down the food drastically to get them into weight for the first race in 2-3 weeks since i still had them on 50% breeding mixture they got a bit heavy but this will all be sorted out in the next 2-3 weeks with my new mixture. Other then that not much more to say sucks that 8 are missing but i barely lost and on the house since may and i didn't loose any at training it was only a matter of time. I do expect 25-40% losses durring training due to the extensive training we do. As a benefit of that i only loose about 5 if even during the season.

A good report into your training Leon. I hope the other youngsters turn up for you. I always based if you can get through young bird season, with a total loss of 33% you have done well. Keep these reports coming mate, it will be good following your young bird season.
