Get involved.
I've always said for the new comers (like myself) coming in to the sport there should be more support for them.
Plenty of help, tips and advice on here from everyone which is great, I can ask a question and someone will be there to answer it.
I think from my point of view and just about to start up, Tips I'm getting like don't get pigeons from here and there, go to One or Two people for the birds, that's all good and well but it's finding the people that will help newcomers with birds, as some people will charge top wack for birds others are free or very little cost.
But it's getting the right birds from the right people to start you off, what a newcomer doesn't want is to pay top dollar for birds then the following year the birds they have are really poor birds this is just so disheartening money is tight for most people worse if you have a family to support don't want to be paying out then packing up after two years.
I have been following a few pigeon people on lives (you Tube) for a few years now their loft set up, their birds, races, breeding ect........ many different way's of doing things some with excellent results, some with good results and some not so good on different days. For a total new starter it's having people there to point you in the right direction like being an apprentice (if you like) to someone so you can follow there lead for a few seasons with breeding, racing management ect......
To many people leaving the sport each year not many starting up from what I can see, sorry if this is a bit long winded guys.

Tony i can only agree with your points, it is not easy to be starting out. Yes you may have a garden to keep them. put that is just the start of joining the sport. I would be happy to help any newbie to the sport, because that is the only way that new members would stay interested. I only hope you do make a good go of it mate, so my offer is there.
