How important is this.
Over the years of racing and breeding pigeons, I would spend many hours daily in the loft. My main aim was observation of my loft, also my birds which was the main thing. Feeding treats like red band, having the birds eating out of my hand and being close up. I was also checking how the air flow was effecting the birds, the good thing was there was plenty of air getting into the loft. I always used peppermint oil sprinkled around the floor. I do believe it did help with the birds respiratory. This was carried out day and night, i fitted lights in my sheds. Which really helped in the winter.
Here are some of my Harry/Rudy youngsters. Hoymann / Vandenabeele.

Been saying this since i started the sport. van den bulck is absolute peak for me.
Donker Leo was 7 years old then Dave, i still have him living out the rest of his life. He is in my mates shed, being taken care of. Yes i owned all these birds, so sad to see them all go. Donker Leo went to a mate of mine, he bred fed and combine winners.Diamond Dave wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2026 10:23 pm Absolutely stunning birds Dev - particularly like Donkere Leo - how old was he when the pic was taken?
