What do you look for on basket day?

Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

We all want our birds to go to the race well prepared, so what do you look for.? I hope this can help new starters to the game.

Always had an old ace fancier used to look in my basket and he'd tell me "that will be your 1st bird home tomorrow boy" He was always right and when I asked him how he could tell, he said he watched them blinking.....???

The true thing about the sport, it keeps us guessing. i would so much time with my birds. Observation I feel is so important, in getting to know your birds.

I only really race widowhood cocks. I like to see the cocks going down low in the bowl with the hen standing over him almost immediately after putting the hen in.
