Different ways to clock in.
I remember a while ago, I had sent birds to The One million dollars one loft race in South africa. I had contact with with a flyer over there. He was telling me about a young group of young pigeon flyers, they were using Whatts app to clock in, when their first bird would arrive. They sent a photo of the birds ring number, and photo of rubber ring with number. To the club secretary, he said they could not afford clocks. This took me back to my first time racing, i had no clock so i had to run to the nearest members home with my rubber.
This seems hard to believe. Surely the Union rules don't allow this? Clocks are DIRT CHEAP. Many fanciers would give new starters their old clocks for FREE. I recall going to a pen sale (£3 a pen) where a fancier put in an STB clock. It sold for £2! The guy ended up out of pocket.Devo1956 wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 10:19 am I remember a while ago, I had sent birds to The One million dollars one loft race in South africa.
