Neil I've retired early 4 year's ago so I think to myself how did I ever find time to go to work. I'm up about 07.30 feed the dog out for a walk with him then back & breakfast for me. Pigeons out at 9.30 weather dependent, scraped out exercised then in & fed, they don't go out in the afternoon as it's not viable ( peregrine's). I haven't got any old race birds as I culled them ( not good enough) I decided nothing that can't be bothered to put a shift in when I ask then I'm not tolerating passenger's full stop, done that for to many years.
So it's just concentrating on ybs this season.
So just to add to this my m8 is out & out distance flyer has about 150 ft of loft down 1 side of his garden I think his racing partner has got 1 sprint loft that's it . He's up early tells me he's doing a 10 hr day all pigeons from the time he gets up until he goes to bed & his only ambition is to win Barcelona think he was 2nd BICC last year with a hen, that his day spent with pigeons, oh forgot to say he runs a corn shop & trainer as well .

Listening about your race results I think you more than hold your own.
Yes it is hard when work gets in the way shift etc & a rushed routine .

First team I weaned last week of April to the 10th of May. there now running
2nd team I weaned this week still on the loft floor apart from 7 older ones
So with it now coming to near the end of the old bird season it’s only really hard for 6-7 weeks a year
I couldn’t really do it if I bred earlier
