Ok let hear your opinions on how old a yb should be before you give it it's 1 st short toss from the basket . Do you get them in as early as possible to try & brain wash them basket home = food sort of thing or do you leave it late just before racing starts.
Any thoughts what works for you.

I normally wean late April to mid May n they done full programme 9 races ,,soon as a baby is 9 weeks old it's getting rd trained.

Just weaned my first 19 this week Dave

There be ready for our first race
There be brainwashed to trap in about 8 days
I won the fed with one hatched 5th of May a couple of year back that’s I think a little bit to close fir the first race I try to have them hatch no later than the last week of April to allow for lost time and bad weather delays etc
So the last ones come away this year 20th of May
There be trained 1st week of July

Mine are same age but will have 6 weeks on darkness
First day proper training they get 10 tosses bk to teaspoon food each time there normally 12 ,13 weeks old at first race n had more training than baby's born in December.
