Goto mix for short sprints?

Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

Me, I had success with V-L "Prestige" but then I also made a switch to their "Gerry Plus" and "Superstar Plus" with success
Was watching that Frank mclaughlin talk about versele laga depurative up to 300 miles seems no uk flyers seem to talk about it guessing its not suitable for our racing

Depending on work load n food pal
If u exercise alot then they need more if u exercise less they need less then there's fatty foods high carb foods that are dence high carb foods that are easy digestive n then there's base foods like ya widowhood mixes ,so Depending on work load wind Saturday race week before is two how you plan ya week,
But I would have a base mix a carb mix n fat mix and then you can tweek each week

Feed then the mix you have
Either weigh it from 30g to 45g from Monday to Thursday
Or give them 30g a day then unlimited barley Monday to Wednesday
Thursday maize
Run VL energy through it Wednesday night Thursday morning when your at 100 miles plus say 20 per cent
Don’t touch any mix with peas in it
Saturday full tray VL energy
Sunday barley full tray to 3pm then remove it

Feed 10-12g morning the rest at night
So if I was to do 30g a day to 45 gram would it be
Monday 30g
Tuesday 30g
Wednesday 35g 20% energy evening
Thursday 45g 20% energy morning and evening
Friday 15g morning?

We are at bath this week which is 86 then frome the week after which is 101 miles to me

I use to go 30-32-35-45
10-12 Friday

If it’s easy mix some barley in it Monday

Fats is hard as you got to think of wind
But Wednesday night Thursday morning was my thing with a little hemp Thursday night like 10pc
I liked the fat to have 48 hours in them
Hemp fired the cocks up
It worked really great for 8 years

Now I’m experimenting with it as I’m flying more 200-400 races
Anthony has some good older posts on fats

But yes that base above won me lots of races I think winning the fed 1 in 4 over them years and about 3 out of 4 club races during that period so it’s a pretty solid base then to u can just adjust it to suit your circumstances
I only used it to 250 miles as I never went past that

If you have a hard race protein powder is handy for Saturday Sunday or even yeast so your not putting thick protein down then with peas etc

Is there a mix that would work better then the vandebeele mix ive only got a quarter bag left and heading the corn shop this afternoon what mixes work best with that base above?
