Getting youngbirds to trap well?

Im currently feeding my young birds twice at day 17.5g at 10am after the birds have been out for half hour then another 17.5g at 3pm it was working well to begin with now it seems the birds are getting slacker and slacker im using a dog whistle and they was responding well ive got about 44 youngsters at the moment and about 10-15 of them are slacking when it comes to trapping any suggestions would be helpful ive been told to let them trap to nothing but it seems they arent ever in a rush to trap unless I encourage them any help would be appreciated thanks guys

Mark, so your feeding 35 gm to each pigeon a day so 1540 gms for 44 ybs.
There not doing much at the moment I would go with 28 gms each that's 1,232 gms.
If some are staying out maybe reduce the feed for a better response to trap. If I've got this wrong or made a mistake with the amount my apologies. Neil would correct me if I've got the total wrong or has a different opinion.

How do they handle are they fat ,
My self it's simple blow whistle 10 secs later any out trap shut ones that are in get fed others get nothing next day same until there just like robots ,,

Yeah thats what im currently weighing out i gave them half of what i usually would today so tomorrow ill start with 14g in morning after out then 14g at 3pm see how they come in the next day I reduced a tad the day before but they still werent like rockets in the trap my instincts was right to cut them again

Most people over feed pigeons they ain't flying from here to Africa, there like all animals dogs horses they see weakness they take pixx ,,yb n hens are worse for kidding ya they will act hungry when there perfect in weight ,u fill sorry for em give em more and they mug you off ,
My pal he's birds were coming with winners man behind him he's birds finished my pals done a lap game over this went on for a good while until my mate didn't feed em 2 days n basket night flicked 1 bit of maize on floor it didn't bounce 2 times whole team was after it ,he sent the lot the out come was he's 16 cocks all went through door together he pissed it ,now this ain't what you have to do to win but this is the kind of mind set u need if there mugging you off ,,
When u have control of a team they should be flying hard and you drop board and even tho there full of flying the team pulls and hits traps ,,I practice this with baby's I do it if the team circles right of loft and left of loft and all so get kids playing ball in garden n washing on line n make them trap why all these things are going on because we never know what's going to happen race day.

I assume you only feed for the ones that trapped within the 10 secs?

How long do you leave the rest shut out for?

I leave them out until there hanging on loft pal ,
I feed am n pm babys go out pm ,,once I have them under full control I give 1 handful of canary seed per 20 baby's 20 mins before I let out when you do thus the baby's go so high there like pinheads in sky and fly much tighter together,, when loft flying it's never about time for me it's about how they fly I rather 20 mins speed flying than 1 hour going around low like a rotary washing line ,
