How’s member pre season going

I started early as i have posted elsewhere mainly due to work and to take advantage of a lovely week of weather

I now need to get them back into flying at home routine and ticking over to nearer the first race then sharpen them up with 3/4 trainers in a row

Has anyone had there baskets out yet or am I the one daft one to early

How are you birds flying at home

What are you feeding

Be good for the site to see a few posting and it will be of interest to others

Mine are still feeding youngsters so are on a bread & wean mix, not been in the basket yet but flying well around home.

Mine are going great pal start on 11th the plan is wrote out in diary, just need to stick to it .

Some still feeding ybs but had the cocks out most of this week, the first ybs have had there trap training last week & are all going back in ok, probably another 10 ybs to do once weaned & that's about it for me.
Training may be a bit hit & miss with the weather turning cold from Wednesday, will see maybe just take them short until the weather changes again.

You must have them fit and healthy Steve as many feeding babies can’t get a good fly

I’m happy with them Neil,they are now doing 45mins twice a day easily and for much of that time out of sight, and when they do go over the loft you’d think they were trainers going over. Just got to keep building the momentum.

Mine are still feeding too but not interested in flying much now coz the cocks are starting to look at the hens again.
They still going out twice a day and flying well for first 20 mins, so I am locking them out for about 2 hours when they are flying intermittenly.
I dont know if that is good practise but they seem to be getting perhaps another 20 mins flying on and off and they respond quickly when I call them in. I think this is because they want to get in to feed the babies. You guys would hate it lol.

Well, Neil, I am hoping when I wean the babies and split the pairs they will be fit enough to fly well enough to start training straight away.
I dont have that sort of control at the mo but I wouldnt say they are slouching although they are on the garden and the roof but more because they are pr-occupied with pairing again.
I reckon another week or so and I will start getting them back into some sort of routine.
Like I said, you guys would hate it.
I must say - I think I am looking forward to seeing your/Ants/Daves and everyone elses results in those early races than I am my own.

A bit behind here due to work,first time out on Friday they didn't do much, feeding cut right back to help trap into different section ,went OK two or three were a bit hesitant. Have increased the feed amount slightly each day and they have improved flying and trapping.Feeding 95% Barley and 5% Beyers build up.Getting delivery of Gerry plus & energy this Thursday, will start introducing the gerry plus then.Weather not great here today 8 degrees strong gusty winds and rain so they will be confined to the loft.

Thanks Neil,it is a nightmare, the earliest I can get to the loft Monday to Thursday is a quarter to five, Friday is better I can get to the loft at half past one, I'm lucky this week I managed to get A/L and the clocks change at the weekend, hopefully get a settled routine feeding,exercising and training, weather permitting.

I wouldn’t worry about mine I will be well off the pace I have no faith in this team at all
The days of having 8 fed winners in the loft are well and truly gone
This is a very different team and not at all reliable hence the work I have put in now
These will need all the help they can get to be ready for mid May let alone April probably the worse team of pigeons I have had for 10 years

You obviously know what you are looking at Neil but I know how much work you have put in to them up to now and I hope you might be pleasantly surprised.

Neil you'll do just fine with them I'm sure, a little tweak when necessary & I don't think you'll be that far away.
