Corn price

With global warming & crops fail or poor yeilds the cost is going to rise. You buy a branded bag with a pigeon on the bag you know your going to get fleeced. Farm mixed or straight well there's good & bad, my local grown farm stuff barley, wheat, seems good but this can vary year on year. As for Bamfords I've found the mixes quite dusty, if you got a lot of pigeons must be cost wise a big expenditure, & I think the cost in proportion with everyday items will continue to go up in price.

I was in the corn shop today and noticed VL dupurative £22.90
Bamfords £11.20
VL was 5kg more but I thought even if the quality is better I can’t see it being that much better after all it’s only barley and wheat pretty much which the farm sell at £6 a bag locally

Do people think it warrants double the price , I’m not over keen on Bamfords but I thought I’m not paying that kind of price
Gerry plus was £19.50 which i imagine would be more expensive to put together

The price of corn has never bothered me. I've never bought expensive corn. I use the Bamfords re-cleaned barley, the birds have never said they don't like it. But if a farm local to me was selling barley at £6 a bag I'd be buying that. Barley has been talked about before on here. ALL barley falls into groups, with the best quality the most expensive used for malting, the rest used for feed. I'll bet the VL Barley is NOT malting grade but just clean feed barley.

When they are harvesting, and you take and fill your own bags, most farmers will give you it for £6, make sure you take decent sized bags

Barley I get is £7 bag and it's good gear but supplier said farms had good Barley this year.
