My niece is the Senior Vet at a large practice in Walsall and it was on her advice that I gave it
She did tell me though definitely not to use aspirin or ibuprofen (I asked about them both)
I forget which way round it was but one is toxic to dogs and the other not as good as Paracetamol (her words not mine)
So far his improvement has been noticeable

I use ibuprofen instead of paracetamol because the anti inflammatory in ibuprofen iv used 2 in a Mars bar 2 hours before iv run a dog and results were unbelievable.MIke Lycett wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 2:46 pm No, not tried Tumeric or Ibuprofen on him

He's great age Mike
I only use asprin to thin blood so lactic acid don't build up when running the dog
I use ibuprofen when a dog as a niggling muscle injury and I can't allow dog to lose fitness so I run them while I'm treating the injury, but iv used these loads and never ever seen a side affect,
Also hay-fever tablet, if ya dog ever gets bit outside by insect and face swells up 1 hay-fever tablet and dogs fave is bk to normal in normally 20 mins or so.

Don't know bout dogs or birds but I know that if you have too much ibuprofen in humans you get stomach ulcers. If you have major surgery when they give you ibuprofen as pain killers you have to also take another drug first to line your stomach so the ibuprofen don't damage the stomach lining.
