Is the grade the same as we feed pigeons currently in branded corns or could it be a lesser grade and possibly have fungus or the like
My understanding is it will digest faster so turning to energy a little quicker
Nothing wrong with either. It is easier to digest. But it does have a shorter shelf life if stored.

Yes Neil.
Maize grading typically involves classifying the grain into specific classes (e.g., White Maize, Yellow Maize) and then assigning a numerical grade (e.g., WM1, WM2, WM3; Prime Maize (MZP1) & Feed Maize (MZF1)

The best types of maize for pigeons are smaller, high-energy varieties like French Popcorn Maize (Cribbs maize) and Red French Maize, which are easier for the birds to digest and contain beneficial nutrients like antioxidants.

Maize grading also uses specific criteria to determine quality and end use, which can range from human consumption to animal feed or industrial raw materials.
Key grading factors for maize include:
Type of Kernel: Maize is classified into groups like dent, flint, pop, sweet, and waxy corn, each with unique kernel characteristics and uses.
Moisture Content: Maximum moisture limits (e.g., 15.5%) are set to ensure safe storage and prevent spoilage.
Physical Quality: Standards define limits for foreign matter, broken kernels, pest-damaged grains, and moldy or discolored grains.
Color: Maize is often graded by color (yellow, white, orange, etc.), with specifications on the percentage of other-colored kernels allowed in a given lot.
Freedom from Contaminants: Grades require maize to be free from abnormal flavors, odors, living insects, and harmful mycotoxins or chemical residues.

King how can’t we check that the brand we buy has the best maize in it or don’t think most pigeon maize wouldn’t be the best quality so it’s just a case of finding what we think is best from equal mid or low grade maize
Like Anthony mentioned the one he likes
How do we check out a mixture for example as most are in sealed bags
You can't if the bag doesn't show that information. Your buying on trust. That's why many fanciers stick to brands that have proven sound before. I'm sure many fanciers have changed brands when the mix changes from time to time.
