There’s the rub Neil, probiotics are meant to support and stimulate gut bacteria whereas bleach will do the reverse it’s a catch 22 I’m afraid as usual each to their own again
We have used probiotics amongst other supplements in the past and had good results

I believe that the moult is the critical time in a birds year, it is a stressful time and if not supported the ability to perform the following year is jeopardised
We fed a propriety moulting mix (as much as they wanted) with Carrs Ad Herb on , a pinch of linseed per bird on the box front and Ribena in the water until the moult was complete

Ad herb is definitely not a probiotic. The makers may clam it supports intestinal health, but it does not contain bacterial cultures nor does it claim to. Colony forming units, basically how many viable bacteria once the product Is in the water. A product which kills all the bacteria in the drying process is a waste of money. The manufacturer needs be able to guarantee how many of there good bugs survive the manufacturing process. I was educated on this many year ago by a guy named Melvin John who was an animal nutritionist.
