So I’ve been looking and considering buying a couple of pairs 2 reasons and probably the main one is, I want to get used to handling and getting up and feeding and getting my routine set up early rather than April when YBS come, and also I could breed some off them meaning less lofts to be bringing ybs in from. Is this a good idea or should I wait until April?

My initial plan was 8x6 for young birds and build 12x8 during next season, but thinking of building the 12x8 early using it as one section for the ybs will actually be 12x6 with corridor. And then after the end of next season split it into 2 sections which won’t take much to do. Then I will have the 8x6 with stock birds. Could I then add them into the 12x6 at the following breeding season? And race them as 2yo?

What would you guys think about Held getting a couple pairs of late breds now to put in his 8x6 shed for him to get used to. Would they be able to stay in that shed when he gets the young birds next year.
I just wonder if his reasons for wanting to do this out-weighs a bit of disruption.
