Iv been using the rp vac for 3 years
It's pmv n rota it's not stopped yb sickness but they do get over it very very easy ,where local lads lose baby's when unwell these have not died some look rougher than others but they seem to bounce back quick .
I do rate this rp vaccine.

NO vaccinate can be given to PREVENT getting infected. A vaccine can ONLY work AFTER you birds are infected. As Ant has said in the above post, the birds DO STILL GET ILL. But the vaccines HELPS them recover quicker.

If only fancier took this advice. He say's 'read the label' if only fanciers did this?. PMV Vaccines say ONCE a year. Yet many vets tell fanciers to do their YBs 3 TIMES in the first year. And they wonder why they have problems.

Yes King, your thoughts on vaccination. what do you feel is needed?
If your racing just the PMV vaccine this one is compulsory. The rest I'd stay well clear of especially for Paratyphoid & pigeon pox. Since I stopped racing in 2018 no birds have been vaccinated. When racing the stock birds were not vaccinated either.

Have you ever thought it's the lads that use the vaccines that are getting there birds home and the lads that don't or pmv are losing loads ,I say this because the flyers I know using vaccines are the ones flying the best and getting good Racing still ,,
Food for thought.

It would be bad for the future of the sport if it were true Ant, and only birds vaccinated for everything were those that returned. I find this very unlikely though. My local club had a disaster last week in the first YB race and NO fancier escaped losses even those I know who jab for everything.

Could be a different vaccine,
Rp vaccine is one the top lads here use and the top one lofts as well that don't lose all the birds as well,
I have lost birds and I use it but not like alot of lads have lost birds ,
I don't double vaccine I don't believe in boosters ,boosters are only there for the company to get extra out of us,,my old greyhound vet 25 plus yrs ago told me this all my dogs get vaccine at 6 weeks baby's get vaccine in nest if I have it if not week before training but I only vaccine once ,,every time a needle breaks the skin it causes a minor tear in the muscle,,when I use to injection my dog with laurabiolin to stop coming in season in the hunting season I had to ultrasound the area where I injected her for a week to stop it tearing ,
I'm very careful when having to inject a pigeon or any animal.
