Yes I am enthusiastic about the Jos Thone' pigeons.
Thone' crossed speed pigeons into his distance pigeons. Obviously he ended up with plenty that could neither sprint or stay, but there were those that could sprint a long way. By carefully selecting and testing the Thone' pigeons are outstanding. Birds that can fly at high speed all day long.
I have 4 Thone' cocks, the grizzle cock is a terrific individual, and crossed with the Billion Dollar Baby, ( Heremans, V d Bulck, Kittel, Pitbull etc) is leaving super youngsters.
They seem to me to be pigeons which can improve any loft of pigeons.
It could be the Blue Cheq is the star. I remember dad having some of the original Busschearts back in the 60s early 70s. They were nearly all blues or pencil blues. Pitbull was a a grizzle, so the grizzle gene is coming through from both parents. The youngsters are strong grizzle colour, and I cannot fault them.
Genetics is so interesting. The Big Grizz is, obviously, a grizzle.
The Billion Baby is a blue bar white flight. Carrying grizzle genes.
Three out of four of their youngsters are grizzles. The other one is always a blue chequer.
