HI i am after a bit of advice how do you feed the birds when they move the day of the race. I didn't get notified till 6.40 on Thursday night after they had been fed. Would you have them out Friday or take them for a toss or do something different cheers jack
If the race was back just one day, I'd just leave them in and feed them as you would normally before a race. It's the same as if they have a holdover at the start point because of the weather.
Who know, the 24 hours of rest may help them.

Funnily enough Jack, that was how we got onto the topic of feeding after a race down the club Sunday. I asked the widowhood fliers the same question, they all said the same thing, they don't change anything, before or after.
As Murray said, it's no different to having a hold over, or sending to the distance races where the birds are two or days in the baskets.

It is frustrating when the race day is changed. With widowhood I try to prepare them for a Saturday race. The past 2 weeks we have had our race postponed until the Sunday but fortunately we have been informed mid week so it’s just been a case of slowing the preparation down a bit. I have had them out on the Friday with marking postponed until the Saturday.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
