Sadly all sports involving animals will go the same way, the last to go will be Equestrian / Horse racing because of the Money and Personalities involved, if The Saudis were into it , it might be a different story, they seem to get away with Murder, Quite literally

It will take a big effort to kill off racing. It is a huge employer here in Australia as well.
Pigeon racing will be the next thing in the sights of the animal rights people.
