Sorry Danny, but the data of them was on another laptop. but they were all good hens. My breeding birds would have got stronger, if i was still in the game.

Well Leon there is not a lot of families to choose from really. Here in the UK when a family starts Winning a lot of fanciers ditch their present team and jump on the band waggon. I'll guess well over 75% will be racing these lines, little surprise they make produce the most winners.
The best sprint birds I myself ever raced were the Karl Herman. Busschaert's were 2nd but they were a all purpose family.

@king I don't think people abandon the birds they have but x them into the birds they already have, and bulk birds have grown in popularity because they have a good success rate, but I agree with you there are lots of good bloodlines to choose from not just dvb, Willem de bruijn are fantastic my good friend tom gaver has great birds Daniel dehon also it depends on the job you want them to do!

That might be the case in the UK that majority of people race those lines. But here in germany alot of fanciers believe in other blood lines due to how our racing program is structured.

It's the same in UK @leon yes lots have bulk birds but lots of different bloodlines are in UK some really good quality right across the board! I think king is picking up on a lot of fanciers in UK who will buy the favour of the day and they definitely exist in numbers here, but overall uk has some exceptional birds to do different jobs from lots of different bloodlines, some German fanciers birds are in our stock hardy kruger tomas kornelius we have grappa Bert liedeman also,

The great thing I loved about the sport: the internet changed the way we bought different things needed for the loft. Also being able to get information about the birds for sale, before we visited lofts that had birds for sale. Then came online auctions, but there was nothing better than loft visits and taking in a trip to Lier market. The good thing is we all have a choice on how we buy birds, and where we buy them from. It also gave some people the opportunity to do some OLR, I am going to see a good mate of mine on Sunday, I am taking a lad to buy some birds. He wont go wrong buying a few from this loft.

@devo I prefer the loft visits thats what I do in the November and to be honest I look forward to it a lot, getting to feel the parents of what I'm going to order, getting to meet fanciers I've been following for a while or meeting back up with ones I've visited previously, usually get that little gem of advice you take with you or how they do things that you can incorporate, always learning and these trips and the conversations and friendships made are invaluable, I'm sure he won't go far wrong with where you take him mate

I have to say Danny, its a great feeling. From the time you get off the boat, going to your first loft visit of your trip. You know things are only going to get better, it makes the trip so much better. I have to say, every visit i had I did not want it to end. Being with great people of the sport, and picking up tips and advice from others. I could not wait to travel again. when you consider you can be in 5 different places in 24 hours. UK, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
