I have started tossing the young birds. Some of them are up on their sixth and seventh flights, and had never seen a hamper. What with shifting and building lofts and homing stock pigeons, I've got a bit behind.
This is no good. They must be flown as young birds. So I have been tossing them every second day, today was their fifth one. We went out a bit further than I planned, looking for a side road with no poles and wires.
I found one, drove up half a mile to find a gate where I could turn around. I reckon it was 10 miles from home. Not a tree, not a bush, not a building, nothing but wheat stubble and wire fences. Ideal, I thought. Nowhere for a hawk to lurk out here.
They took a while and were very breathless and wild eyed when they arrived, but all in a bunch. You mustn't be dramatic, but I think they may have had a little scare.
I've been giving them heaps lately, tomorrow we might have a quiet day with only one fly. Then back to the same place the next day and further the next time.

St Arnaurd is a nice relaxing little town, I was going to the wood yard with Murray. I came across this machine outside the wood yard, local people bring their dogs to be washed. It as a menu also for tic treatment and other things, Great machine I would say.

That's a good idea, surprised none over here mind folks would be using it on themselves if there were

They have here Buster. They’ve got one next to the 24 hour car wash where you can go to and wash your car using pressure washers. I do mine at 10 o’clock at night. Takes 10 minutes and is quiet at that time of day. Very popular. In the same area are washing machines for washing clothes etc.

Never seen or heard of any around here have seen washing machines at several service stations

I flew the pigeons early this morning, so I could go to Bendigo and pick up the eggs we were offered. So, of course they flew 70 minutes
Half a dozen stock birds thought a dawn fly was a good idea, and two of the small ones had their first big fly, I was thinking I'd never get away.
But just for once, at all came together, everything was in surprisingly quickly and away I went.
It's about 70 miles to Bendigo, and I had the radio on LOUD and cruising along. Thinking I wished Devo was here. He likes driving along in the country here, chatting about this and that.
Got to Davey's place, nobody home.
A minute later Stacey arrives, " He's not here, he forgot he's umpiring football".
So I called him. He's on the field, with his phone in his pocket. "Hang on" He says, " someone's going to kick goal".
A few moments later, "Yea I forgot about this".
He told me which pair in which pen to take the eggs from and slip pot eggs under.
"You know where the key is!"
Amazing So I got home in time for lunch with eggs which went under a pair, I still have no idea what they are off, but there is a youngster in that pen which is fantastic,
People wonder why I look so much better. I am having fun, that's why
