What a brilliant idea Tony. I get how the racing works but just wondered how the finances work and how ppl get involved.

Devo and I have a couple in a OLR here in Melbourne again this year. It is good to follow them through the training and hopefully watch them develop.

Thanks Murray, me to, this fella has some nice quality birds so it'll be very interesting to watch the Y/B races over the season think its 7 races he had 44 Y/Bs in the first race on Saturday, only 40 where in the OLR his returns on the day where 35 both mine got back to fly another race next Saturday. Keeps the interest up.
1st bird home won £150.00 he pays out on the first 5 home and £10.00 for the last bird clocked on the day

I really hope you get a good one and win a nice prize. There is nothing like a bit of success early on to encourage a newer flier. There are too many things that can discourage you.

Thanks Murray, I have wanted pigeons for years but with family and work its been hard to time it right.
I have the chance now so I am all in on this and I wont to make it work.
I have ordered my birds from fanciers I follow on YouTube and have done for a few years now these fanciers win regular so hopefully the birds will be good its just me, I just hope I get things right from the start.

@tony you will mate just take everything slowly get to know the birds and keeping control of general health and grow from there look at it as a 5 year plan so results don't matter until year 5 and if you look at it like that you will do well, most importantly just enjoy having them mate

Yes will do Danny, there coming to me at different times during august first lot should be with me during next week, then two more kits the following week. I have been offered some stock pigeons so looking in to taking a few of them to breed from so there's no pressure on the late bred birds.

Yeah good idea mate will definitely help you out if you got a couple of pair to breed from, have you got a aviary attached to the section you putting the kits in? Or a big trap they can sit in during the day? This helps settle them and call them with Same noise each time you feed them eventually they will be responding to the call you want them like that well before you let them out first time, when you do let them out first time we have found making it a bath time really helps calm them less accidents that way
