Well planned mateMurray wrote: Tue May 23, 2023 1:38 am There's two reasons why these youngsters need to be well trained before the races.
First, there will probably only be less than 100 pigeons in the races, and they need to be able to do it without any bunch to drag them home.
Second, the first races are only about 60 miles from the west, but two of the flyers with bigger teams live about 38 miles south of me, so they will tend to get taken well away from the line to Bendigo.
So I have to drill them to break away at the start and head for home. Otherwise I will either lose them or they will be hopelessly late.

What a shame hope she gets happy again, I have a pair that have bred one baby this year first time in few years so let it hatch to try and keep the line going, if I was you I would do the same with that one

Enjoy your meal and Happy Birthday CatherineMurray wrote: Thu May 25, 2023 8:42 am Wet and cold tonight.
Catherine and I are going out for dinner for her birthday, it's a pity the weather has packed up after a nice spell of fine weather.
I am lucky to have a good loft, I got the feed ready and quickly cleaned out the loft when I got home from work, then put the lights on and fed them. They had a day inside today, the first one in a long time. When I took the feed away just before they were all warm and settled down.
I did leave a flap open when I went to work, so they could go out into the sputnik. Of course there were a few which thought standing out in the cold was a good idea.![]()

We had a fair go at the cake and a couple of our customers got a piece too!
I will still be around to sort out the inevitable problems they will find, but I don't have to worry about the place 24/7 anymore.![]()
