I opened the birds up and let them out at 7.15 this morning. It was cold and frosty. They had a good fly and just after 8.00 I went to clean them out and feed them. As I walked up the garden I noticed that a couple of birds were sitting looking wet on the edge of the pond. As I got closer I saw a couple down in the pond having a bath.
As others were also looking for a bath I put a bath down on the decking. I hadn’t even finished filling it before they were in it.
The water was very cold but they didn’t mind.
They are on open loft during the day now so I expect the hens had their turn after the cocks had taken over nest duties.
I need a bath!!!
The cold doesn't seem to worry them does it?
They need to be careful going in that pond with the piranhas

Mine love the bath. On a hot day they roar around until they get puffed, then splash around in the water, have a lie in the sun, then do it again.

Great photo Muzza, I do love seeing your birds enjoying your garden, you have a good mix of sun and shade
I saw a picture of pigeons floating around in a bloke's swimming pool. It was 6 feet deep.
I wish I could remember where I saw it.
