It appears the grizzle gene is establishing it's self in the shed.
This is a pair off the grizzle Thone' and the Billiondollarbaby. So they should go okay.
We have grizzles
There's another couple of pairs with youngsters that are just starting to show a little colour and I reckon they are grizzles too.
I never had a grizzle pigeon until the grizzle Thone' came along. I have to say I am getting to quite like them.

Nice birds Murray. I only keep 6 pairs in my stock shed and 1 is a white grizzle and one a black grizzle. (mother and son) I often wonder what I would get if I paired them together but they are both breeding good birds so not sure if I would want to get into "inbreeding" yet or at least until I understand it a bit more.
The black grizzle often throws white grizzles and vice-versa

You could, Dave, but just speaking for myself I've not had any great success with close inbreeding.
I have bred some nice pigeons "line bred" to a good one. For example a grandson mated to a grand daughter of the good pigeon.
I also hesitate to go down the road of breeding for colour. I wonder if it's not a distraction from breeding for performance.
Just as an aside, I have a pair of pigeons on babies which are very line bred to my good mate David Cox's super breeder Heremans, "Hawkeye."
The hen is by a son of Hawkeye out of a daughter of Hawkeye.
The cock is a grizzle by the grizzle Thone' cock out of the Billioindollarbaby, who is a daughter of Hawkeye.
So 3 of the youngster's 8 great grandparents is Hawkeye. But 5 of them aren't. So there's a lot of crosses of him, but all the others are unrelated pigeons.
They are strong, lovely babies, it will be interesting to see how it works out.
