Great vid Dev which makes great sense to me.
This doesn't explain Andys experience of not feeding grit but I wonder if Andys birds might be on open hole or something, maybe allowed to pick up off the garden
where they satisfy their own intake of hard stones.
My own feeling echoes What this guy says im the video in that the amount of actual "ginding" grit required is negligable but best kept fresh.
The de patagoons brand and others similar are simply full of other stuff that the birds just like to eat like sweets to a child.

Having watched the clip my pigeons should have all died long ago and certainly not have been racing well for 14 weeks continuously.
But each to their own opinion.
As I said in my first post on this topic I was just stating my observations of my own pigeons.
Ps they still haven’t really touched any of it. It is the versa laga grit + redstone that I have given them.

I am mainly talking about my widowhood cocks when regards to racing Dave. They were exercised twice a day and never went down in the garden. They had every race of the old bird season, 14 races, and never had any grit during all that time. They preformed well enough.

A test carried out, not by myself. So again some members will agree, and some wont. But i feel a good video, for other members.

He starts out correctly saying granite grit. is bad, but later says a small percenage is ok. He then rightly says European fanciers use better grit ie Versele-Laga Colombine Grit + Redstone, but doesn't point out that it does not contain granite grit.

I think it was a great test but thinking about it and taking Andys experiemce into account I just can't see the birds going downhill to the extent he describes within 30 days.
I have never monitored my birds to that extent so can't really say but surely if the birds desperately needed grit they would go down in a field and get it.?
