Hi King, that's good to know I wasn't sure the best way to go with the boxes because there that many different ways people have the breeding boxes, so I just thought I'd leave them open, 3 cocks 2 Hens and see how they go one set of birds have paired up and are on 2 eggs and all seems well so far, I never see any fighting the odd time a pigeon goes in the wrong box but the bird who is sitting the eggs at the time seem to get the other bird out right away.
Fingers crossed all goes well.

As I have said before I don't have any nest boxes in one loft I use pipo boxes with a central divider so 1 becomes 2, in the other loft there is boxes in 1 section only

Hi Murray are those rings the ALL plastic without a metal core? If so they are banned here in Europe. They were trailed by the Belgian Union for only one year, but the FCI made a rule that ALL rings must now have a metal core.

Yes I heard that they are banned in Europe, but they are pretty much universal here now. I'm not sure why they are banned in some places. They do the job.

I don’t have fronts on my stock pairs once they are paired. My race section has the traditional widowhood fronts in.
I think you will need fronts in the future Tony especially when selecting pairs rather than letting them choose their own mates. But once paired and settled you can remove them. It’s much easier cleaning the boxes out without the fronts on.

I like the way you keep you book of records for breeding ect....
do you put this on a laptop as well or just the book mate.
I don't have any fronts on my next boxes would you advise putting half ones on like your, as I have seen an odd bird go in the wrong box but they are straight once the bird from that box chases it out, so easy with no fronts on

Thanks Andy, understand what you mean mate, how old would the birds have to be for breeding only asking only because I have the late bred birds so come mid January after the Blackpool show that seems to be the time to pair up for a lot of fanciers.
As I have not raced these birds I won't know their quality on the wing, so would I let them pair themselves or would I have ago of pairing up what I like
