A good day out.

Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

We have been knocking on the door all season, getting seconds and thirds, close but no cigar. But today we cracked it. :D
The Central Highlands Pigeon Combine flew the Ballarat Breeders plate race and we took the first three placings.
I am pleased.
It is always a competitive race and shows that our birds are able to compete at the top level.
I'm not sure how much we have won, but I've been told it might be around $10,000.
And guess what? The winner is a daughter or the Billiondollarbaby. :D

This is Australian one season racing.
153 is a hen which was hatched on 08/08/25. So she is 13 months old.
She has had a lot of racing and was 3rd in the open race last week from 300 miles.
Today she only had to go 250 miles, and being hard fit and in top form we were a bit optimistic.
She was about 120 metres per minute faster than the second flyer, who had a big entry.
Lots of Heremans on her father's side, Billiondollar baby on her mother's side.
Et Voila!

The top of the results from the Breeders Plate.
My mate Terry has done a brilliant job with these pigeons, I'm so pleased to have stumbled across him. He thinks my pigeons are the best thing since sliced bread, but he put a huge amount of effort into them.

I have to say I was out there in the shed as soon as it was light this morning. I'm still in a bit of a daze I think. :D

Well done. Always have convert the distance when in kms, always looks further than it actually is. 261 miles. See other birds were flying as much as 342 miles and 398 miles, so the race covered a big area.

Thanks king.
Yes the Ballarat Breeders has pigeons from pretty much all over the state, so not only are they flying different distances they are going in all directions.
We were the most westerly loft. and probably just about the shortest, so we were giving everyone time. We were a bit nervous until we saw we'd beaten Aaron McKay by half an hour. He's a powerhouse flyer in Ballarat. After that I didn't think anyone would catch us.
