All going well by the sound of things. It’s getting the first few out that will be the really worrying time. When they first take off and there’s nothing you can do about it but hope. Once you have the first ones out the rest will be much easier as they’ll have others to follow.
I got 3 from my brother a couple of weeks ago, his 100 miles from me, they were a little bit older than I would have preferred and already fairly strong on the wing. I let them out the third day they were here and they all took off once out. But after a while they all came back in. But as I said I did have others of mine out at the same time.
Yes, I know what you mean Andy, I know at some point I have to let them out but its timing it right and hoping that they come back.
Things are really improving with the feed and calling them for food, as the first few times they didn't want to come out of the Aviary until one of them dropped in for food then the rest followed, today I opened the Aviary one whistle and one shake of the corn and they where in like a shot

Doing well with them @tony get a bath out when you do let them out it stops a lot of fly aways and them scattering to every roof and fence they a lot calmer if they got the bath to focus on

Just an up date on the birds I have.
i have had them for a week now and worked on my call, whistle and corn / tin I have to say the improvement in the bird when I call them from the Aviary into the loft for feeding is amazing they are basically at the door as I walk in, they are now flying in before I start the whistle and corn / tin shaking think its time to get them out the loft tomorrow could be the day I go for it.
i have a week today before I get the next in take of Y/Bs so need these out and be able to call them in, I have also got myself some Bob wire trap which I need to fit in hopefully the birds take to it well

When you fit the bob wires Tony make sure you can hold some up in someway. They won’t want to go through them at first. Just hold the odd ones up to start with so that they have a gap to go through. After a few times you will be able to leave all the wires down.

I would be a little bit cautious about letting them out today, Friday, as if any do decide to have a night out there will be a lot of race birds about tomorrow that could take them off. You also wouldn’t want to let any out over the weekend to help them down for the same reason. There are a few that are going Sunday instead of Saturday, we are. Monday would be your best option.
