In the sport of racing pigeons, get to know your birds. They are all individuals, so observation of your birds is a must. You want a calm environment, so the birds save energy ready for racing.
This short video, will give you so many tips.
Get to know them
Tony, i would spend hours in my shed. Sometimes just sitting down, and having the birds close to me. Have them eating out of my hand, just keeping them calm around me. I had lights in my sheds, and a corridor, this helped in the winter time, ans when i entered the shed. Rudy would be right on my shoulder, he would let me know he was there. I have to say, I miss my birds. So enjoy the sport while you can.Tony-P- wrote: Wed Jul 22, 2026 9:05 pm another great video Devo, its good to see how the older fellas (Champions) work with their birds
Tony, I finished racing and was just breeding. So this was Rudy, Gaby Vandenabelle / Harry, Jan Hooyman lines. I found it to be a good cross.Tony-P- wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2026 4:00 pm Did he do well for you Devo, looks a nice bird mate
