I've been building LoftBuddy, a free app for pigeon racing and loft management, and thought I'd share it here since a few of you might find it useful.
What it does:
Bird records & pedigree — full records for every bird in your loft, with proper pedigree trees showing sire/dam lineage going back generations
Race & training logging — log liberation times, arrival times, and it works out velocity (YPM) automatically. Handles club races, federation races, and One Loft Races separately
Weather at liberation — pulls in real weather data (temp, wind, humidity, conditions) for each race automatically, so you've got a proper record of conditions for every result
Breeding management — track pairings and breeding records
Medication & vaccination tracking — with reminders so you don't miss annual jabs
LPI (Loft Performance Index) — a performance score built from your birds' actual race results
Public bird registry — this is the bit I'm quite proud of. If you register a bird, and someone else in the app has one of its offspring or descendants, they'll see verified race performance from your bird show up in their pedigree tree. So the LPI scores travel through bloodlines across different lofts, not just within your own
Club & federation portals — clubs and federations can have their own admin access to manage members
Ring number handling — copes with GB, WHU, SHU, NIPA and most other UK/Irish/European ring formats automatically
Platforms: Android app on the Play Store, plus a web/PWA version that works on any device including iPhone (full iOS App Store release isn't out yet, but the web app covers it in the meantime).
Cost: It's completely free — no subscription, no premium tier. There's a referral/achievement system but rewards are badges and early access to features, not paywalled stuff.
As an active fancier myself, so it's built from actually wanting these things for my own loft rather than as a generic product. Happy to answer any questions or take feedback — always looking to improve it based on what fanciers actually want.
