I got a quick decision to make and its probaly the hardest in a while

Our combine has decided to race on tuesday 173 miles and shortly after un sunday 280 miles.
Alot of people now decided not to basket due to the short regeneration time from tuesday race to saturday basketing and im not sure what i shall do.
Race both ?
Leave the one out on tuesday but send the birds on 280 miles with 2 weeks no basketing ?
race this tuesday and quit the season after?

so many questions right now im trying to figure out i wonder what you guys would do

I recall back in 80s. Sent Friday, to 150 mile. Birds held over 4 days to Wednesday. Birds home Wednesday tea time (late lib due to people working). Sent sent just 3 birds back due to the quick turn round, Thursday to 220 miles. (birds back in the 80s went Thursday to the longest inland race)
Result I was 5th club Wednesday from 150 miles. Was 2nd & 4th all pools and Nominated cup from 220 miles on the Saturday. 40/45 members average sending. Same bird arrived first in both races. A blue w/f hen which won 17 cards in her 34 races.

If I was you I'd send to the race Tuesday, and ask the question again after the race.

I have always said, racing comes around and its over in no time. Birds need to be tested, so any racing is important to them and also you. If the weather is ok, send, send, send.
Its all about recovery after the first race, then get them ready to go again.

question answered itself. Combine decided to not race because suddenly me and my father were the only loft in the whole combine that wouldve basketed after they asked who would wanna basket on monday and then again on saturday.
I guess everyone else believes that its to much on the birds thats why they dont wanna basket but oh well.
