The only extra mine get is apple cider vinegar and garlic from time to time. I never treat for anything except PMV. I don’t use grit or minerals. Natural immunity for me.
I do add a bit of glucose powder, brewers yeast and lemon juice on the mix for the widowhood cocks on a Wednesday night. But that’s all.

Interesting Andy that you don't give grit or minerals I've always thought that these were essentials. I agree with the natural immunity but thought that grit especially was something they have to have.

Even when I have put any down they don’t touch it. My birds don’t have open loft either so it’s not that they are finding some while out. So now I don’t bother. Doesn’t seem to make any difference. I know a top fancier in Trev’s club who has now topped their fed 51 times never gives grit. He sees it as unwanted ballast.

Even though they say they need grit in order to help digest food, mine go mad for grit and the black and red minerals
Sadies Lofts home of decent birds just a useless loft manager, and now a confirmed loser but proud :D :D

I know everything you read says that grit is a necessity. But I don’t find it’s made any difference not using it. Certainly wouldn’t suggest that others stop though.

I remember George said he didn't use it either but sure he has said he now does, would be good if he returned to the site as well
