First nightmare of the season

Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

What a terrible race we had yesterday. Sent 12 first one a good 12 minutes off the best and still wasn’t last took 45mins to get 5 then nothing till 4pm (6:30 lib 165 miles) 4 more worked in during the evening 1 at 5am this morning. Pigeons have a wonderful habit of bringing us down to earth. Only saving grace everyone was in the same boat. Some a little better some a little worse.

Steve like Mike says I was 200 miles Darlington I got one off the road in good time ended up 2nd club 4th fed then waited 11 mins i then had 8 in about ten mins all out the west in a west wind then not another pigeon for 35 mins

There was a period in the afternoon I didn’t see a pigeon for 2 hours after that I was getting one then another 40 mins later
I’m beginning to think Darlington is a bit of a bogie race point. We went there last year and many got wiped out on a perfectly decent day when other North road feds got decent racing from other lib sites. Norwich fed were at Driffield yesterday and they fell in. My first one came due East which you might expect on a west wind except mine hardly ever do, I sat there thinking maybe a group went through that side and he’d just broken out of them, 5 minutes later another due East I knew it would be sticky, coming out of the East and a 5 minute gap. On a positive 11/12 so could have been worse.
