It’s not easy doing it alone and all the worry of traps being open while driving to training and back
I couldnt leave my traps open like that Neil. If I go training I have to get em in when I get home but my problem is cats.
If I get caught in a traffic jam or something they have to stay out. Think the odds are better with a sparrow hawk than with a cat getting in.

When I had that feral cat getup getting on the loft and hanging on the aviary I had to stop training lucky it was start of the season so most had been done I got the thing luckily
Had it been yb training I’m not sure what I would have done
Have you tried the weighted single bird trap people use for late comers

I am happy with my sputniks and my training routines and its not so important for me to time every bird from every toss.
In the summer when it's warm and her indoors is in the garden is the only time I can leave them open.
I think baby's the more you train the better but old birds after 1st or 2nd race shouldn't really need tossing unless it's a part of ya system or birds loft fly poorly ,,if ya flying natural I understand but I think the less you train old birds now the better with the hawk n falcon situation.

Sorry if my reply seemed a bit nonchalant. I am always grateful for any suggestions that might get me that bit closer to the top table but I seem to have accepted some of the constraints I have rather than consider an alternative.

The problem for me, is, that if you go training and your birds get home and can't get back into the loft until you're home, then the message you're sending them is "Why bother rushing home - I can't get inside anyway"
Birds were hit today training I didn't see it ,but on ets 90 percent together and others like drips of blood one with center tail missing gash up belly ,,

It’s getting ridiculous I’m scared to go past 16 miles now and even then something turned my hens the other week
