I sent 8 pigeons, 4 cocks and 4 hens, to the 4th of the sprint race series.

The predators are taking their toll, only 4 flyers sent 43 pigeons. Several members have been cleaned out. The falcons are very bad this year.

Head winds are forecast so it will be a bit slower than last week.

I have had something similar before. Last year I had a cock that kept on going into another box just to feed the babies in there. I’ve also got an old cock that is happy to feed anything that’s willing to be fed.
Good to hear peace has rained with all.

I also have some that go in boxes and feed babies, maybe they get fed up of hearing them so feed to shut em up

I had a phone call yesterday, reporting one of mine missing since Saturday.
Turned out it was 3000, one of the pigeons I collected from up the river a couple of weeks before. He was in nice order and had paired up, so I thought he would go alright.
Instead, he's turned left and gone back to Moama! I called the bloke last night and we decided he had better keep the pigeon.
It's the last of the short races this weekend. I am getting short of pigeons, but I handled a few this morning, and they feel good.
We shall see how we go. Easterly wind should help.
