That's true but the RPRA never lost out as they had to pay the ring 'tax' to race them, which covered the cost of a lost ring sale. As for getting them earlier that happen for only one year as the RPRA issue theirs earlier now also.

You said 'Surely the NWHU should stick to the North West'? They HAVE their area has not increased, only they area of their ring sales.
Anything to do with the NWHU should remain in the North West of England in my opinion. Why anyone flying or keeping pigeons outside the NWHU would want a NWHU ring on their pigeon is a strange one to me. Its like me putting SHU rings on mine it wouldn't even enter my head. Personally I think it's because some have their own little vendetta against the RPRA.

And again just to be clear I've nothing against the NWHU Terry Phifer who is one of the main men lives in same town as me and Terry is a great guy who runs a good little local club up here affiliated to the NWHU.
Whist I'm not racing now, I do use NWHU rings and have done for some 25 years. The reason I started using them was back in 2010 the RPRA tried to force on it's members rings with the ETS lugs on. So I bought NWHU rings without them on. The quality of them, ease of reading and cost made the decision easy. I've carried on using them to this day. Any birds I give to others to race pay the RPRA ring 'tax' and nobody loses out, the RPRA still make money. For 20 years I was a dual member RPRA & NWHU. When I stopped racing I resigned from the RPRA, why would I pay £38 just to buy a few rings at TWICE the cost as an individual member?
It's each to their own king but to me the RPRA aren't bothered about ring sales because they get money from the ring tax sales. I just think its because, as I do, they are taking the mick with having members all over the country. I'd like to see them return to their original boundaries, sell rings etc to people within their original boundary but again to be fair to the fanciers in the NW buying NWHU rings I don't think they should then have to pay the ring tax.

You say its "taking the mick" goose but that is freedom of choice. - and theres nowt wrong with that.
The Rpra are worried about losing members to the NWHU (probably need to put the membership fees up again) so they are making sure the "option" isnt there by getting them out of the way first - Its blatantly obvious why they are doing it!
- pre meditated dictatorship is what I call it but then perhaps thats just me being sceptical.

You can call it what you want you certainly won't change my opinion same as I don't intend to change yours.

Below taken from RPRA Website. Sounds positive.

The Royal Pigeon Racing Association (RPRA) and the North West Homing Union (NWHU) are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached following constructive and positive discussions between the two organisations.

The RPRA would like to thank the NWHU officials for hosting the meeting and for the warm welcome extended. Discussions were frank, open, and productive, and both parties are pleased that a compromise was reached on the issues raised.

The following actions were agreed:

The NWHU revised its rules to rescind Rule 2 part (ii)
The Council of the Royal Pigeon Racing Association has rescinded the previous minute to derecognise the North West Homing Union.
The requirement for RPRA members to register NWHU rings has been removed.
The RPRA will assist the NWHU in its application to join the Confederation of Long Distance Racing Pigeon Unions of Great Britain and Ireland, marking an important step forward in strengthening cooperation and unity within the sport.
The NWHU will seek confirmation, via the relevant RPRA Regional Office, that all outstanding fees owed to the RPRA have been paid before accepting any new member.
Both organisations are committed to working together in a spirit of mutual respect, open communication, and collaboration, with the shared aim of supporting members and safeguarding the future of pigeon racing.

Excellent outcome although I feel that those who have joined the NWHU from outside their boundaries won’t be happy

I'm unsure how this will effect them? They were members before the rule change. Under RPRA rules any boundary changes DON'T affect existing members. I'll contact the NWHU for clarification.

They’ve not changed any boundaries just removed the ability of people from outside their boundaries to join as associates to buy rings, Look forward to the result of your enquiries
