Interesting

Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

I've listen to previous comments about bleach & Vircon, I've never tried bleach.
I understand that member's on the forum have used bleach & will continue to do so with good results.
I think I will stay with the Vircon, I haven't been using it that long to be onest but I can see a difference from when included in the bath & drinking water albeit only a tiny amount given.
Thanks for putting this up Mike.

Virkon S is not a bleach, it is a disinfectant though. Whilst I'll never use either, Virkon S is probably safer to use than bleach in drinking water.

No one will ever convince me that adding bleach to birds drinking water is either sensible or necessary if the intention is to sterilise the matter or eradicate pathogenic bacteria there are proven alternatives for both mind you they are more expensive than Tescos bleach

In my "experience" of using Virkon its bloody good and I won no end of high quality races on it

I had 2 lofts on it last season when their form had gone and their season was in tatters - the turnaround was remarkable

But hey - we all manage our birds our own ways. ;)
Thanks for sharing Mike
Can I ask what the dosage and long do you give the Virkon ?
Many thanks

The vet at Meditech actually advised to use it ''Virkon s that is'' along side some treatment he gave me a couple years ago
Sadies Lofts home of decent birds just a useless loft manager, and now a confirmed loser but proud :D :D

Swimming pool bleach is double the strength of house hold bleach ,
Does zero harm ,,used both verkon n bleach for years I like it better than pigeon products plus its cost effective with results.
